![]() ![]() What is right about my observation & what is the best way forward? The specific OS I installed for unrelated reasons & because it is probably not supported by VB was quite troublesome to install & get working, so I do not want to mess this up. Here are the relevant details - Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad Y510 Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2330 1.6 (As reported by BIOS) Bios: AMIBIOS 06CN29WW Host: Windows XP 32 bit VBox version: 2.1. When I start the VM, though, I get an alert there is VirtualBox 5.0.10 update, but not sure whether to upgrade, because I have no idea what that means, based on the above stated problem. VirtualBox still doesnt install on Windows 7 64-bit. And based on bug searches, this is a reoccurring issue going back 3+ years. I decided to remove it & used 5.0.8 instead. This is still an issue with v4.2.6 on Windows 7 64-bit. Locate the TPM option and check that the TPM 2.0 version is active. ![]() Select the System option in the Settings section. Navigate to the right-hand side section and click on the Settings button. Normally, in the drop-down selection list, 64-bit versions are offered. To install Windows 11 in VirtualBox 7.0, repeat the following steps: Click on the newly created Windows 11 virtual machine. I was however surprised there was no option for 64-bit but only 32-bit, even for all Win & Linux, etc versions. With Properties, I see : this device runs normally. Looking at the USB controlers (Configuration Pannel > System > Devices Manager), on the list of device controlers, I have the VirtualBox USB. I have always used 64-bit versions of Guest VMs, but because of a re-installation of Windows 10 (after originally updating from Win 8.1), I had to re-install VB as well & took the latest version VirtualBox 5.0.10 for Windows hosts x86/amd64.Īs I went on to install some OS, I wanted to use the 64-bit version since my laptop also uses Win 10 64bit & I had used a 64-bit of this guest OS before. I had no more the previous message of bad installation of the driver by Windows. ![]()
